Across the province, “Community Inclusion Networks” are playing a significant role in Overcoming Poverty Together: New Brunswick’s Economic and Social Inclusion Plan.
Twelve networks are operating across the province in order to:
-identify local priorities for poverty reduction
-help strengthen impact through community planning & collaboration
-assist communities in accessing resources
-leverage involvement from all sectors of the community in poverty reduction.
The Goal:
By 2015, New Brunswick will have reduced income poverty by 25% and deep income poverty by 50% and will have made significant progress in achieving sustained economic and social inclusion.
How to get involved:
The nonprofit housing sector is a key player in poverty reduction. Get in touch with your local network in order to benefit from, and contribute to the action! Go to www.gnb.ca/poverty to find out more, and take action.
