NBNPHA Board Member Survey

The objective of the NBNPHA survey is to identify the strategies and support needed to ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of our members current projects and plans for growth.

The more data we gather, the more accurately we can develop the scale and scope of support for our members.

  • The survey explores how we can best help members build capacity to add new units, including accessing funding, land, and professional services.

  • NBNPHA seeks to identify members who want to lower energy costs and improve comfort and safety for tenants, such as installing mini splits. This data will help advocate for increased financial support to help make this happen.

  • We recognize the need to provide training and education to help members to grow, thrive, and ensure succession planning. The survey explores the needed content (such as strategic planning, financial management, and property management), as well as how we can best deliver learning material.

  • With adequate interest, NBNPHA can help members save operating costs by facilitating group buying options on products and services like appliances, cleaning supplies, insurance, etc.

  • With adequate interest, NBNPHA will explore developing a program to provide financial benefits for member’s tenants on products and services such as groceries, insurance, cable and Internet services, and other amenities.

  • With adequate interest, NBNPHA can provide member web pages within our website providing an online presence, helping promote member’s brand in their communities, as well as the non-profit and coop housing sector throughout the province.

  • At the 2024 NBNPHA conference, 39% of members said they would like to retire from their respective boards in the next 1 to 3 years. NBNPHA is seeking to gain a better understanding of recruitment needs from board members across the province and aid them in identifying best practices in recruiting new board members.
