Manley Black and Manley Price are founding and current board members of Boiestown Seniors Housing Inc., having spent the last 35 years volunteering for the organization. Their groundbreaking vision of subsidized housing in Upper Miramichi allowed community members to remain in their community in safe, affordable homes.

Manley Black dedicated his career to supporting older adults as administrator of the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home, retiring after 40 years in 2024. His advocacy and volunteerism have ensured that older adults can live with dignity in their communities.

Manley Price devoted his life to sustainable forestry and community development, serving as chair of the Miramichi Salmon Association, founding director of the Woodsmen’s Museum, and municipal housing committee member. His steadfast advocacy has supported the development and longevity of housing for older adults and persons with disabilities.

Together, their tireless efforts exemplify the profound impact of advocacy and community volunteerism on affordable housing in small rural communities.

For 37 years, Marie Anne Hachey has been a steady, guiding presence at Chatham Non-Profit Housing. Recently retired as President and long-time Chair of the Board, she has devoted decades of volunteer service to maintaining 18 units of safe, affordable housing in her community.

Marie Anne’s leadership has always been rooted in care, responsibility, and a deep commitment to Chatham Non-Profit Housing’s original vision. Even as she approached retirement at age 83, her focus remained on ensuring the organization’s long-term continuity and success, including supporting the recruitment of new board members to carry the work forward.

Her dedication, persistence, and passion for housing make her a powerful role model for the sector. Marie Anne’s decades of service exemplify what it means to support non-profit housing with heart, humility, and unwavering commitment.

For nearly two decades, Marie-Rose Chiasson has been a driving force behind Logements Tracadie, serving on the Board of Directors with unwavering commitment and heart. Currently the Chair of the Board, she has previously taken on roles as Treasurer and Secretary, consistently bringing leadership, clarity, and energy to every responsibility she carries.

Ms. Chiasson’s dynamism inspires both long-standing members and newcomers alike. Under her guidance, the board continues to pursue ambitious new affordable housing developments for the Tracadie region, fueled by her steady encouragement and vision for what the community can achieve.

Her impact extends well beyond board meetings. Over the years, she has been deeply involved in numerous community initiatives—always the first to roll up her sleeves, offer support, and bring people together. Her warm presence and sense of humour strengthen the team around her and help create the positive, collaborative environment needed to advance meaningful housing projects.

Ms. Chiasson’s dedication, leadership, and community spirit make her an invaluable champion for affordable housing and a deserving recipient of this recognition.

As the founder of the Saint John Community Loan Fund (now Kaleidoscope Social Impact), Seth Asimakos has continually reimagined community investment for over 25 years. Under his leadership, Kaleidoscope grew from a community lending initiative into a hub for social finance, training, and real estate development.

Seth’s innovative approach—integrating financial tools, education, and community spaces—has broadened access to capital, supported affordable housing projects, and expanded opportunities for social enterprise. His vision and leadership continue to shape the social impact landscape in Atlantic Canada

For 13 years, Robert Tinker has served as Coordinator of the Charlotte County Housing Council, which owns and operates 33 primarily low-income non-profit units in St. George, Saint Andrews, and St. Stephen. His work is grounded in a belief that housing is about more than a roof, it’s about dignity, skills, and opportunity.

Demonstrating both creativity and initiative, Robert recently secured funding through Working NB and partnered with NBCC and St. Stephen’s University to deliver an eight-week life skills and employability program for CCHC tenants. The course covers essential skills such as reading and writing, resume and job application preparation, budgeting and financial management, communication and collaboration, basic computer skills, adaptability, and workplace certifications like CPR, first aid, and WHMIS. Robert has also helped arrange transportation and raise additional funds to ensure tenants can fully participate.

Through these efforts, Robert is not only improving quality of life for tenants, but also opening doors to new opportunities. His commitment to practical, tenant-focused innovation reflects the spirit of this award and the values of the non-profit housing sector.

As Property Manager for Fredericton Non-Profit Housing, Randall Leavitt demonstrates exemplary leadership through his daily work with tenants, staff, and community partners. Known for his creativity, mentoring, and positive spirit, Randall takes on new challenges, supports others, and provides stability and optimism in a challenging housing climate.

Beyond his professional role, Randall is a tireless contributor to the sector, attending conferences, networking, and helping advance projects across the community. His humour, dedication, and countless hours of care make him the backbone of his organization and a true leader in the non-profit housing sector

Nominated by Gary Glauser, Kit Hickey embodies the kind of leadership this award was created to recognize. In her role in the non-profit housing sector, Kit has consistently had a meaningful impact by bringing people together, supporting colleagues, and modelling collaboration and respect.

Kit is known for inspiring others to think creatively about housing solutions and for encouraging teams to work in partnership with other organizations and services. Her leadership style emphasizes mentorship, shared problem-solving, and building a supportive work environment where staff, volunteers, and tenants feel heard and valued.

Through her example, Kit helps strengthen the non-profit housing sector as a whole—demonstrating that effective leadership is not only about results, but also about how we treat one another while achieving them.

Mathieu Rouleau has demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication in the non-profit housing sector, making him a highly deserving recipient of this year’s Gary Glauser Leadership Award.

In his volunteer capacity with the New Brunswick Non‑Profit Housing Association and through his service on the organization’s Board of Directors, Mathieu has brought strategic vision, collaborative spirit, and a commitment to advancing affordable housing in our region. His ability to engage with both seasoned board members and new faces has been essential in moving forward the Association’s goals.

Beyond his board service, Mathieu has consistently leveraged his professional strengths — including finance, governance, and stakeholder engagement — to benefit the non-profit housing sector. His efforts to build partnerships, foster innovation, and navigate complex challenges have helped strengthen the ability of housing organizations to serve communities with integrity and impact.

Through his leadership, volunteerism, and deep commitment to social responsibility, Mathieu Rouleau embodies the spirit of the Gary Glauser Leadership Award, celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to create positive, lasting change in the non-profit housing field.

Rita Savoie has been at the heart of Le Manoir de la Rivière since its inception in 1990, alternating roles as president and administrator for 35 years. She was a founding member of the NBNPHA and the first president of its Board of Directors.

Her decades of leadership extend far beyond housing: she was the first woman elected to her local municipal council (1989), president of the Golden Age Club for 25 years, and an active leader in regional and provincial organizations. Rita has received numerous honours, including Businesswoman of the Year (1998) and the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award (2002).

Her unwavering commitment to seniors, affordable housing, and community service exemplifies a lifetime of achievement and impact.
